MESSENGER DATA TERMINAL

The Halda Mobile Data System (MDS) is capable of providing dramatic improvements by using radio channels to transmit information between base and vehicles. MDS works in conjunction with a base computer system. MDS provides advantages that translate directly to operational efficiency.

Data limits errors, delivering clear instructions and a faster response time. Radio 'chatter' is eliminated,

improving driver and passenger comfort. The Halda MDS allows many jobs to be dispatched compared to voice operated systems.

One of the major benefits of the Halda unit is its simplicity. Users of the product find it easy to learn and even simpler to use.

A car is selected according to location and vehicle priority. The driver is then invited to accept or decline a job offer at the push of a button. Full details are disclosed upon job acceptance and when the job is completed full details of the trip are then logged on the base computer system. The Data system monitors the location of all active cars either by drivers plotting their location or alternatively the system can be fully automated by the addition of a global positioning system (GPS).

The MDS has been designed to ensure total privacy between base and driver, thus eliminating "job stealing" and monitoring by outside individuals. By recording the details of jobs completed it identifies which areas are busiest at which times. This enables precise planning to utilise the fleet to its fullest potential. If the MDS

is used in conjunction with the M12 taximeter then full details of the fare, extras and distance can be sent back to base and logged at the end of each journey. If a printer and card swipe are used, then credit cards can be swiped and the information relayed to base for verification and authentication.

Another function is that any text displayed on the MDS can be sent to the printer so a hard copy can be made.
